Civil War Union Soldiers Captain Portrait 1860s Sixth Plate Tintype Tough Cigar

I've cleaned the front facing glass, but there is some debris on the underside. Brass frame is in good shape. Measures roughly 3.25" by 3". He was a Union Army captain, writing to his girl in 1862 while he was held captive at Salisbury Prison North Carolina. This photo was likely taken before that incident.
