Confederate soldier with Colt Revolving Rifle Ambrotype Civil War 1/6 plate

This is an ambrotype of a North Carolina Confederate soldier. He is holding what appears to be a Colt 1855 military model revolving rifle. If I understand correctly, this rifle proved to be as dangerous to the user as it was to the target. The ambrotype comes in a case that is separated on the hinge side. Its metal clasp is intact. The image is in good condition as the only dark spots are very small and on the very top edge. Under a jeweler's loupe you can see miniscule black dots and what looks like floating white fibers.

Overall, its a nice ambrotype as you can see from the photos above. Its size is 1/6 Plate, which is 2 5/8" x 3 1/4".
