This is an original framed discharge paper dated 1865 for a Union Civil War soldier. It's in very good condition having nor tears but it does have folds from most likely being in a soldier's pocket. There's a lot of writing on the document. Silas Boyer is his name he was with company K of the 188th regiment from New York. He served a year and was discharged on May 30, 1865.
There is more information written on the document but it is small and cramped in. There are various other soldier's signatures on the paper as well such as the officer in charge and a captain. The document measures 8 by 10 1/2 inches and is framed. The frame is dinged up a bit but solid wood. It has a board backing.
