Museum quality CIVIL WAR RELIC. From US Civil War veteran James W Dickie to his cousin Robert in Scotland dated November 30th 1873. Dickie, a Scottish emigrant and farmer of Burnside, Lapeer Co, Michigan, America, saw action with Union forces under General Sherman from summer 1862 until summer 1865, and provides matter-of-fact, but compelling eye-witness testimony of the Battles of Chattanooga and Atlanta. Some of the content relating to setting up his farmstead.
