Rare, 1/8th Size tintype of Alfred Kiefer Civil War Soldier in half case

Rare image and very good condition. 1/8th size is 2 1/2" X 3 3/4" on this one.

Alfred was born Oct 1842 and died Oct 1863 according to his tombstone. He enlisted July 1863 in Co.

I cannot find any verification to indicate how he died, but it must have been while he was in service, being death occurred just 3 months after enlistment. Half case is solid, has double hooks with one hook missing, stud is there.
