Rare Antique Leather Civil War Soldier's Wrap-Around Leather Wallet. DESCRIPTION: Particularly nice, original antique CIVIL WAR wrap around leather wallet. Consists of 2 separate sections, each with inner compartments. Made of pliable, extremely thin, smooth brown leather, with wrap around tab to hold it together and in place. Nicely scallopped edges on each inside pocket.

Stitching is intact and in excellent condition. This type of wallet was popular and useful during the Civil War. The small type was especially popular with both army officers and also very useful with enlisted men as well, as it was small and easy to carry. Measures just 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" when closed up, opening to about 5" long x 3 1/2" (not counting 4 strap).

In excellent condition both on the outside and in the inside. All fine stitching and decoration intact.
