Rare WWII fixed bail M1 helmet was issued to the US Navy and is nicely marked to the reverse of the helmet "Beck". Helmet retains the original 2nd pattern Hawley liner with chinstrap. Liner is also marked with two service numbers 36563798 and 382301. Liner shows obvious wear to the outer edges but other than that, it is in pretty good condition. The steel pot has a very low heat stamp of 50B and retains about 80% of the original gray navy paint.

Chinstraps are solid with brass furniture. Rare clear and very early rose ambrotype.

Measures approximately 4 1/4 X 3 1/2 inches. This image as well as another image identified as a New Yorker came from the same estate in New York. The other shot that came from the same estate is a Mathew Brady image of a child that looks like this mans brother or a least a close relative. Image depicts a soldier wearing a 9 button frock coat with kepi in a standing position holding a M1861 Springfield Rifle.
