Soldier tintype photo post Civil War cased in uniform antique c 1880s 1/6 plate

Antique cased sixth-plate tintype of an unidentified post Civil War US soldier circa 1880s. Measures about 3-5/8" X 3-1/8" including case (dollar bill shown in image for size comparison only).

Antique, imperfect, pre-owned, used condition - there is wear and scratching to the image - we have not removed it, but it looks as though it may have been removed a time or two and may be split in some areas. The case is quite fragile with the cover having been almost separated at the spine - it's barely hanging on (please see photos).
