Paper label on the reverse reads 1861 The War for the Union. / PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY / This series of pictures are original photographs taken during the war of the Rebellion. A quarter of a century has passed since the sun painted these real scenes of the great war, and the "negatives" have undergone chemical changes which makes it slow and difficult work to get these "prints" from them.
