There are over 475 pieces (37 items) in this playset! Huge compiled playset of the Spanish Civil War. The Spanish Civil War included forces from the elected, left-wing Republican government supported by the Soviet Union under Stalin and fascist forces under General Franco, aided by Hitler's Germany and Mussolini's Italy. Taking place between 1936 and 1939, it is usually thought of preceding World War 2 but a good case could be made that it was actually a part of it (along with the Japanese invasion of China).

Playset is in 1/72 scale. The toy soldier figures by BUM (Barcelona Universal Models) are soft plastic, about 1 inch tall. All new except the book which is in like new condition with minor wear. Set includes 13 fascist poses on 3 sprues in each bag, 6 bags.

Each sprue also includes a machine gun and tripod. Total of 234 figures plus machine guns. Republican left forces include 12 poses on each sprue, 3 sprues in a bag and 6 bags.

Includes several of the'Fallen Soldier' pose (based on the photographed by Robert Capa). Also includes is a book; The Spanish Civil War by Turnbill, from Osprey, soft cover, 1990 with 40 pages of the war's background, tactics and strategy and 8 color plates for those who would like to paint figures paint not included. Model paint with a spray sealer would work.

Jo-Han model kit of a Messerschmitt Bf 109 which the German Luftwaffe (Condor Legion) flew during the war (not sure if this is the exact upgrade). Sealed model kit, may need glue and paint. A Russian made tank 2 parts includes a separate turret which could be left loose or glued into position.
