Published by Stanley Bradley Publishing Co. They measure 17 by 12 by 2 inches or 43.1 by 30.4 by 5 cm. The covers are embossed leather with gilding. Volume 1 has 473 pages, and Volume 2 has 444 pages. These books are dedicated to the memory of soldiers and sons of soldiers who remember their fathers' sacrifice on the battlefields. They were created in 1884 as a memorial to the still fresh wounds of America's greatest conflict. They cover the war's principal battles and the soldiers whose sacrifice, patriotism and honor, on both sides, determined the fate of our nation. It is extensively illustrated with maps, portraits and battle scenes, including several 2 page spreads.

Some of the drawings would be very suitable for framing. The condition is as follows; there is wear and pushing to the corners of the front covers, and they are coming loose at the bindings. The pages are all tightly bound and very readable.

There are no funky smells to either book. Check out the pictures closely for the wear to the covers.
