Two letters from George H. Ebersole of the 32nd Ohio Infantry, Company F, to his sister. Datelined''Camp Jackson / June 11th [1862],'' first letter reads in part:''There was an election held last knightPierce was defeated for lieutenant the boys of Carrolton County could not stand this they sea that if he did not hold his ofice that they would go home.

I moved for a reconsiderationthe boys all sed that they would not go under any other so Beatty made a little speech then formed a line and all those that were in favor enlisting near the present condition would remane and those oposed would step back. During his service, the 32nd Ohio fought at the battles of McDowell, Harper's Ferry, Cross Keys and Port Republic. Ink letters measure 5.25'' x 7.75'' and 7.5'' x 9.5'' and total 3.5pp. Paper shows mild toning and occasional light soiling.
