A very legible letter written by Union soldierWilliam G. Davis virtually begging for a discharge after he suffered some injury in battle. The best thing I think about this letter is you can go to exactly where it was written; I lived 8 houses away from Patterson Park and ton put yourself into the mind set of this soldier where he wrote it is indeed a rare opportunity.
There is some water staining and a little tear where it had been folded for some time. Other than that it is in decent shape. I transcribed the letter below although it is fairly easy to read.
Writre soon and let me know how all of the boys is getting a long. The item "Union Civil War Soldier Letter written at Patterson Park Baltimore MD 6/18/1862" is in sale since Friday, March 8, 2019.
